Blogging While Watching LOST: Whatever Happened, Happened

by Christina Gleason on April 1, 2009

If Jin hadn’t thrown little Ben in the DHARMA van, he would’ve changed history. Why did he try to save him? Did he buy into Daniel’s bit about not changing the past? If Daniel hadn’t insisted that, would he have still tried to save Ben? Sure, it would’ve created a monster paradox and possibly destroyed the entire space-time continuum, but I would’ve been tempted to leave him there to die.

So now we’re going to see what it is that Sawyer asked Kate to do when she got off the island. Aaron, meet Clementine? Kate is awfully trusting of Cassidy to tell her everything about the island.

As expected, Juliet is working on Ben.

LOL @ Hurley explaining the potential paradox via Back to the Future. Way to go, Miles, explaining to Hurley (and the fans) how Sayid always shot young Ben… but they just didn’t know the whole story until now.

Sawyer comes to fetch Jack the surgeon, and Jack has again decided not to push the button. I mean, he’s choosing to let Ben bleed out and die… and potentially stop them all from existing, as pondered by Hurley and Miles.

Jack has given up on trying to fix things. At least he’s given up the savior complex, but he’s still quite obnoxious. Kate, on the other hand, is going to donate blood to Ben. This is so weird.

Roger isn’t as dumb as he looks. He knows that Ben took his keys. He knows that Ben was the one who busted Sayid out of jail.

I really like the conversation between Hurley and Miles. They’re explaining the things that the people on the LOST-TV forums and elsewhere online have been discussing… and they’re putting it out there for the people who don’t participate in the fan forums so that maybe they can understand what’s going on.

Juliet says that maybe the Others can help save Ben. She would know this because she becomes one of them, so she knows what Richard and the other island natives can do.

I could feel the panic rising in my chest as Kate was running through the grocery store looking for Aaron. I have a 3 year old blond boy myself. I was getting ready to type up how my son would totally change his mind from milk to a juice box mid-store… and probably change it back after I bought the juice boxes… and then I couldn’t tear my eyes away from the screen until Kate found Aaron!

So Sawyer is going to help Kate. I guess he has a few liberties as head of security. He can make up his own story about what happened.

Cassidy’s theory: Kate took Aaron to mend her broken heart?

“No matter what he’s gonna grow up to be, it’s wrong to let a kid die.” Said Juliet to Sawyer. Who is saving Ben for Juliet. Not for Kate. Ouch, Kate.

Juliet has Jack cornered in the shower. It’s become pretty clear that Juliet is right for Sawyer. Jack and Juliet were not meant to be, and apparently neither were Sawyer and Kate. I’m still a total SKATE fan, though.

They’re violating the truce, but Sawyer is demanding to see Richard Alpert. Will we get to see what makes him so special? Why he doesn’t seem to age? How can Richard save Ben?

So Kate got on the plane to find Claire. She went back to find Aaron’s real mommy. But I don’t think she’s right about Claire being alive.

Richard says, “If I take him, he’s not ever going to be the same again… His innocence will be gone. He will always be one of us.” Dude, what are you going to do to the kid? And why should he talk to Elie first? (Eloise?)

It’s the Temple.

It’s Ben… in 2009. Locke to Ben: “Welcome back to the land of the living.”

I saw these words in Ben’s eyes. “Am I in Hell?”

Blogging While Watching LOST: LaFleur

by Christina Gleason on March 4, 2009

Whoa, look at that statue! At least the last flash brought them out of prehistoric times and into a mostly modern age. Their nosebleeds have stopped… too bad Charlotte couldn’t have hung on for another two flashes.

Three years later. So it’s been three years for them on the island, too. DHARMA folks getting high on brownies and dancing around… While Horace is drunk and throwing dynamite at trees.

YES! Sawyer is LaFleur, Head of Security for DHARMA! Awesome! He’s risen pretty high in the ranks in three years. Gone legit, and a real task master… since the DHARMA peons were afraid of the consequences of not waking him.

Miles is helping Sawyer take care of Horace. Horace’s wife Amy is pregnant. The two of them had a fight about… Paul? And Sawyer is apparently going to deliver the baby.

Oh Daniel is so sad. He can’t even bury Charlotte’s body because dead bodies don’t travel through time. And Daniel explained that there will be no more time traveling.

“Who put him in charge?” LOL.

What did they just happen upon?  A woman is hysterical with a bag over her head all execution style. Juliet and Sawyer took care of the executioners. Did they just change the past? Or did this always happen? Hmm. Maybe this is where  Daniel gets the idea that maybe you can change the past. And that’s why he tries to convince young Charlotte not to try and come back to the island.

“We have to bury them… the truce… We have to bring Paul back with us.” And Paul was her husband.

Sneaky little minx, putting ear plugs in and letting them all get laid out by the sonic fence. At least it wasn’t cranked up to max power.

Alright, Sawyer isn’t going to deliver the baby, but apparently Juliet is.  And she safely delivered a baby boy!  What do you want to bet that women can still have babies on the island because Ben isn’t there yet? Much like the Fisher King, Ben’s land (the island) was sick the way he was sick… and he was sick in his soul because his mother died  giving birth to him. That’s what I’m thinking.

Jim LaFleur, captain of a salvage vessel looking for the Black Rock. Which Horace has never heard of… right. Or maybe he really hasn’t because the DHARMA Initiative folks never ventured to that part of the island.

Aww, look at Charlotte, the cute little red-headed girl! And she waved to Daniel.

Hostile alarm! DHARMA folks scatter… and Richard Alpert strolls in and plants a flaming torch in the middle of New Otherton. Sawyer to Juliet, “Uh oh.” Uh huh…

The meeting of the generals before the battle? Horace versus Alpert.

What is Sawyer going to say to Richard? Ah, introducing himself. Asking him if he buried the Jughead bomb. Telling them about their little encounter with John Locke when he disappeared from out in front of them.

What is the deal with the bodies? Why was Amy so intent on burying the Hostiles? Why is she so upset about them digging up the bodies? Why does Richard want Paul’s body in exchange? What would that mean?

I like how Sawyer is convincing Juliet to stay. Are the two of them going to hook up? Oh my God, they so did. Sawyer picked her a flower. They’re having dinner. They’re kissing.  And… they exchanged I love yous? Oh dear. Are they just going to… swap when Jack and Kate reappear?

Nice heart to heart with Sawyer and Horace about getting over people…

…And then Kate shows up. Dun dun dun.

Blogging While Watching LOST: There’s No Place Like Home (Part 2) [Part 2]

May 29, 2008

Okay, I needed more space! It’s the commercial break immediately following Sawyer’s plunge into the ocean. Another Sayid hit. Long hair is quite becoming on him, even though he is a hitman. “I think visiting hours are over, dude.” What circumstances have changed? Bentham’s dead, two days ago. Sayid stopped Hurley from saying who Bentham [...]

Blogging While Watching LOST: Something Nice Back Home

May 1, 2008

Jack’s not looking so hot. Hey doc, you got a bit of sweat… all over there. Those were some pretty little red panties. And… a Millennium Falcon? “Yankees bludgeon Red Sox in Series Sweep.” My baseball history is a bit off, but I’m sure someone else already knows the exact date by now. Is that… [...]

Blogging while watching LOST: “The Brig”

May 2, 2007

Please, please, please… PLEASE reveal Cooper as the real Sawyer. How many commercial breaks will we have to go through before the reveal? If there is one…. and I’m counting on it. “Don’t you know where we are?” Creepy! This bodes well for those who believe that Locke has been on the island before. Because [...]

LOST’s Leading Men

January 31, 2007

Sawyer. My personal favorite.  Honestly, how many [heterosexual] women don’t love the bad boys? He’s got that slow, sexy drawl.  He always has a snappy comeback, or at least a funny nickname for people.  He’s done some really despicable things, but he has the capacity for good. He loves his daughter.  He loves Kate.  He wears [...]

“Every Man For Himself” – The One Where Sawyer Doesn’t Get a Pacemaker

October 25, 2006

As soon as Ben told Sawyer they put a pacemaker in, I said to my husband that they were just messing with him. Turns out, I was right. I guess it can still happen, sometimes. Conning the con man to gain his trust; funny, I thought they were just doing it to mess with his [...]

Why we love SAWYER

June 19, 2006

I have to admit it. I’m a total Sawyer fangirl. Is it the eyes? The hair? That slow, sexy drawl? His generally rugged good looks? Or is it that whole bad boy persona of his? I think it’s a little bit of everything, and I know I’m not alone. I don’t know if there are [...]
