Dominic Monaghan on Flash Forward

by Christina Gleason on October 18, 2009

I remember being told that Dominic Monaghan appeared in those ABC promos at the beginning of the summer to throw us all off. We were supposed to think he was coming back to LOST, but he was really going to be on Flash Forward instead. Three episodes in, and no Dominic. Maybe that was the real trick? And he will be back on LOST?

Of course, the fourth episode of Flash Forward has already aired, but I haven’t had a chance to watch it yet. We’re watching it on DVR tonight, so I may have to eat my words about him not being on the show yet.

Update: Okay, so I’m eating my words. It seems that this show is much like soap operas on Fridays. The best part is the last five seconds.

Accused of Watching Too Much LOST

by Christina Gleason on September 5, 2009

My husband and I are gamers, and after one of our recent Dark Heresy gaming sessions, we were discussing an interrogation that will be taking place during our next session. He wanted to run a scenario by me to ask if I would talk under the circumstances.

He wants to bring our prisoner into a room and wait until he wakes up. Then he wants to start piling the bodies of the prisoner’s fallen conspirators in front of him, saving the most charred and disfigured men for last. Then he’ll tie the prisoner to one of the bodies and douse him with fuel from his flame weapon while lighting a Lho stick (cigarette) and telling him to talk, starting with the name of who hired him.

I said I’d definitely talk.

While relating this to the wife of our Game Master – who is also a gamer, but not a part of this particular campaign – she told him that he watches far too much LOST. Apparently she thinks that Tom’s methods are too similar to Sayid’s interrogation techniques.

But the fact that she recognized this means that she, too, is also a huge LOST fan… and we’re all just way too impatient waiting for the last season to begin!

The Big Bang Theory Geeks… and LOST?

January 12, 2009

I just watched the geeks on Big Bang Theory sic their killer robot on the poor, defenseless toaster. Then Penny told Howard he was creepy and pathetic, and Sheldon made a lame attempt at a yo mama joke.
You know what I want to see? I want Sheldon to pick apart the physics [...]

Heroes: Dual

December 15, 2008

Sylar monologue = Shivers.
Nathan is sounding very creepy right now. What is Peter going to do?
Yikes. Did Sylar just steal all the powers from the inhabitants of Level 5? It’s a blood bath in there. And is Sylar going to play some sick game with everyone he just trapped at Primatech where he [...]

Heroes: Our Father

December 8, 2008

Hiro’s mommy! She can heal things, like Lindermann could, only she got sick when she did it. Other people stole her health.
Elle had an awful lot of blood in her. I guess that’s how head wounds work, right? And Sylar is torching her, so there’s really no chance of her coming [...]

Heroes: The Eclipse, Part 2

December 1, 2008

So is Claire really going to die? Won’t they lose a critical fanboy base?
Elle is totally going to be the mommy of Sylar’s baby. Although naming him Noah after the guy who’s currently shooting at them seems a bit of an odd choice. Papa Bear is on the prowl.
(Off topic, about commercials. [...]

Heroes: The Eclipse, Part 1

November 24, 2008

Here’s what I want from the eclipse: The heroes lose their powers temporarily. They obviously have to get them back, or else they’d have to change the name of the show. But our super superheores (and villains) will only regain the ability to absorb other people’s powers… they won’t retain the powers they’d [...]

Pushing Daisies and Eli Stone Canceled

November 20, 2008

I don’t know which upset me more: losing Pushing Daisies or losing Eli Stone. Apparently ABC doesn’t care, because both shows have been canceled.
Pushing Daisies had me hooked from the first episode. Their use of color is absolutely brilliant, and I love the quirky humor, the narration, and how the characters can randomly [...]

Heroes: Villains

November 10, 2008

Peter’s emo hair is back this week!
Sister? Meredith and Flint?
Sylar was going to hang himself? And Elle walked in and saved him?
Okay, title graphic that said VILLAINS instead of HEROES was awesome!
Noah could’ve had Sylar before he went on his mass murder streak, and he let him go free because whales don’t sing [...]
