Blogging While Watching LOST: What They Died For

by Christina Gleason on May 18, 2010

Jack’s eye. In L.A. He’s got quite a spot of blood on his neck. David “made breakfast” by opening a box of cereal. He has a concert tonight. Mom’s coming, too. We’re finally going to see who his mom is!

Good morning, Claire. It’s good to see her not crazy again.

Oceanic found Christian’s coffin. It will be arriving by the end of the day. Um… That was Desmond, faking an American accent. What’s his game?

The island.

Jack stitches Kate up so she doesn’t get infected. That’s gotta hurt like crazy.

“They have a little girl, you know. Ji Yeon. Jin hadn’t even met her yet. Locke did this to them. We have to kill him, Jack.”
“I know.”

Finally, someone’s talking some sense!

Blogging While Watching LOST: Ab Aeterno

by Christina Gleason on March 23, 2010

Ilana wakes up, bandaged. We’ve seen this scene where she’s visited by Jacob before. “There’s six people I need you to protect.” The remaining candidates. He gave her their names.

The island.

Campfire time. Sun tells everyone about the whole candidate thing. Ilana was supposed to talk to Ricardus – he’d know what to do next. Richard laughs a girly, crazy laugh, then tells Ilana he tried to kill himself. He says that everything Jacob has ever said was a lie. He doesn’t know what they should do next.

Richard says that everyone is dead. Ah, there’s everyone’s fun theory about Purgatory… well, Hell. Richard is pretty sure “we’re all dead” and everyone’s in Hell. Fun times. I hope he knows that a kitten just died because he made me say the P word.

Jacob and Smokey as Immature Gods – An Allegory

February 24, 2010

I’d like to thank Oh Amanda from The Disney Blog for the idea that Jacob and Smokey are immature gods. As I put it in her comments section, that’s not just poetic, but I think it’s quite appropriate. And I wanted to expand on that. The Island is an Allegory for How We See God [...]

Amazing Theory: Jacob’s Kin

August 4, 2008

If you’re looking for some heavy reading during this seemingly endless hiatus, take a look at the theory Jacob’s Kin, written by Garden Mom at MyMedia. It’s a very long theory, but well thought out and researched. It’s heavy on the Biblical history of Jacob. (It’s easier reading if you’re familiar with the Andrew Lloyd [...]

Jacob is Him – But who is Jacob? Spirit? Telepath? Prisoner?

May 11, 2007

“God loves you as he loved Jacob.” That was one of the frames on the screen Karl was forced to watch in Room 23. Jacob also had a list, and Jack was not on it. There has been much speculation about Jacob since he was first mentioned on LOST. There was speculation about him even [...]

Ben Linus – Liar, Manipulator, and Cold-Blooded Killer

May 10, 2007

After seeing the carnage of the orchestrated gas attack, it’s hard to see how Ben can possibly think that his group is really made up of the “good guys” he claims they are. The castaways versus Others fatality tally really doesn’t matter anymore. We know now that the Others brutally murdered a whole town full [...]

Just who is Jacob in the LOST universe?

November 12, 2006

Apparently, Jack wasn’t on Jacob’s list. So who is this Jacob? And are we to assume that Jacob’s list was the one that Bea Klugh gave to Michael? And if Jack’s name wasn’t originally on that list, then what exactly is the point of keeping Kate and Sawyer in bear cages if Danny Pickett’s just [...]
