Heroes: Dual

by Christina Gleason on December 15, 2008

Sylar monologue = Shivers.

Nathan is sounding very creepy right now. What is Peter going to do?

Yikes. Did Sylar just steal all the powers from the inhabitants of Level 5? It’s a blood bath in there. And is Sylar going to play some sick game with everyone he just trapped at Primatech where he makes them kill each other or something?

Ah, the Level 5 crew is bait.

LOL. Ando makes constipated faces while Matt and Daphne look on. And he’s all red and sparkly.

My husband suggests this whole Sylar Primatech thing may be like one of the Saw movies. We’ve never seen any of them, but based on reputation, I’d believe it.

Hiro’s talking with a pigeon. LOL.

So much for the Marine becoming a recurring character. Super strength doesn’t stop someone from breaking your neck.

Ando! Oh no, what is going to happen to him?

Poor Hiro, no longer a master of time and space. But its so cute seeing him with his 10 year old self.

Wasn’t there at least one horror movie where the bad guy trapped a bunch of “good” people in a house and made them kill each other? I’m sure there were plenty of them, but very few which are all that memorable. And I don’t watch horror movies. Sometimes I like reading their summaries, though.

Well, that’s one way to get rid of a guy who uses fear as a weapon. Freeze him. That’s going to make an awful mess of the carpet.

Can Ando amplify other people’s powers? I’m just having trouble figuring out how Daphne went back in time when she touched him. Something in the theory of relativity? She moved faster than the speed of light, so it sent her back in time? I was never very good at theoretical physics. Calculus? Sure. But I couldn’t plug the numbers into the formulas.

I find it amusing that I just thought, “Tracy is cold.”

They did it! And we found out how the formula got split into two pieces.

Mohinder is healed. Is Nathan going to beat Peter into the spillage? Heal him too? Oh, he’s going to inject himself.

He can fly again. Can he do everything else he used to be able to do? Or just fly, because Nathan is nearby?

Did Sylar die in that fire? With the piece of glass stuck in his brain, he can’t regenerate. But we’ve thought he was dead before, so I don’t know if we should count him out yet. Although getting rid of the insanely over-powered people was necessary. Arthur first, then Sylar? And if Peter started from scratch, he’s not too powerful now.

End of chapter three.

Now wait. Senator Nathan Petrelli is beginning the Mutant Registration Act? Oh wait, that was the X-Men movie. Oh wait, it’s our new chapter of Heroes, too. Certainly looks cheerful, doesn’t it?

Heroes: Our Father

by Christina Gleason on December 8, 2008

Hiro’s mommy! She can heal things, like Lindermann could, only she got sick when she did it. Other people stole her health.

Elle had an awful lot of blood in her. I guess that’s how head wounds work, right? And Sylar is torching her, so there’s really no chance of her coming back from the dead. Unless Hiro were to go back and stop him from killing her… but he wouldn’t have any reason to do that. So she’s toast.

The Petrelli family has some serious issues. They’re like a soap opera family or a Greek tragedy.

Arthur seems to be reluctantly allowing Nathan to take control of Pinehearst. It’s gotta be his plan, though. He’s always pulling the strings.

Didn’t something in the fabric of the space-time continuum just rip when Claire held herself as a baby? They did a really great makeup job on Claire’s mom to make her look younger, although it’s fairly obvious that she’s wearing half an inch of stuff there.

That was a super creepy scene with Sylar and the lie detector chick. And her office pals. *shudder*

“I like teleport better. Less windy.” I like that, Matt.

Silly bike messenger. You can’t get away from Daphne. And just like a NY cab, honking at the guy who took a header over his cab.

I love the synchronicity of “Future” Hiro and Kid Hiro’s mannerisms. And oh dear, scary confrontation with “Future” Claire and her dad. Yikes. Umm, how are you going to get out of this one, Claire?

Claire Bear. Aww.

Oh no… Is healing Hiro what ends up killing his mom? Healing him didn’t, but giving him the light did. :-( *sniffles*

This is NOT good. Hiro has no powers, and he’s lost 16 years ago… his mom isn’t even alive for him to enjoy it.

So Arthur could always time travel? Otherwise, how would he have gotten there? If it was 16-year-ago Arthur, he wouldn’t have had to wait until episode-time to have and use the catalyst. I think my brain hurts just thinking about it. But yeah, the bad guys have The Formula.

And now I see why Sylar needed the lie detector woman. Not that she had to die – he knew how to use empathy to get the power from her, but chose not to. But he needed to know if Arthur was really his father. He got his answer. Then BAM! No more Arthur. I must say, that was awesome. And I now feel a little guilty for shouting DO IT! DO IT! DO IT! at Peter.

Did the catalyst just evaporate when Arthur died? Or did it find someone else? (Like Peter?)

Heroes: The Eclipse, Part 2

December 1, 2008

So is Claire really going to die? Won’t they lose a critical fanboy base? Elle is totally going to be the mommy of Sylar’s baby. Although naming him Noah after the guy who’s currently shooting at them seems a bit of an odd choice. Papa Bear is on the prowl. (Off topic, about commercials. Why [...]

Heroes: The Eclipse, Part 1

November 24, 2008

Here’s what I want from the eclipse: The heroes lose their powers temporarily. They obviously have to get them back, or else they’d have to change the name of the show. But our super superheores (and villains) will only regain the ability to absorb other people’s powers… they won’t retain the powers they’d previously absorbed. [...]

Heroes: Villains

November 10, 2008

Peter’s emo hair is back this week! Sister? Meredith and Flint? Sylar was going to hang himself? And Elle walked in and saved him? Okay, title graphic that said VILLAINS instead of HEROES was awesome! Noah could’ve had Sylar before he went on his mass murder streak, and he let him go free because whales [...]

Heroes: Eris Quod Sum

October 27, 2008

I really like the “African Mr. Isaac.” (Awesome seeing him on ER a few weeks ago.) He’s had some great interactions with Matt, Hiro, and Ando. Definitely a good addition to our merry band fo heroes. My Latin is a little rusty. (Took it way back in 7th and 8th grade.) I’ll have to look [...]

Heroes: Dying of the Light

October 20, 2008

I called it! I knew Hiro didn’t kill Ando! I was just wrong about him smacking Ando in the head with the sword. Instead, he went back in time to warn Ando to play dead. Yikes. Mr. Petrelli is a superpower vampire. He just sucked Adam’s youth, life, and regeneration out of him. That was… [...]

Heroes: Angels and Monsters

October 13, 2008

During Nathan’s soliloquy, Mohinder looked either like some sort of lizard or like Gollum. Yikes. Sylar saved Mrs. Petrelli from Peter slicing her head open. There’s turnabout for you. Claire just tazed vortex man. Lucky shot. Could’ve gone quite badly if she’d been just a hair slower. Hiro putting Adam back in the box is [...]

Heroes: I Am Become Death

October 6, 2008

So did the title of this episode make anyone else automatically think of “all your base are belong to us?” So Tracy really isn’t Nikki? She was one of triplets? And Nikki only developed the Jessica personality after the real Jessica died, right? Weird. Future Peter has a Batman-like gravelly voice. And Future Claire talking [...]

Heroes: One of Us, One of Them

September 29, 2008

I was going to wait until the episode was over to start blogging, but THAT WAS FRICKIN’ HILARIOUS. Sylar slipping into that accent, impersonating an FBI agent, and then asking HRG – I mean Noah – if he likes decaf? PRICELESS. Are they going to actually redeem Sylar from his villainy? I didn’t think it [...]
