LOST Season 5 Rewatch – Day 3

by Christina Gleason on January 27, 2010

I missed a day yesterday, but I’m back in my LOST groove today!

  • I simply love the reveal that Sawyer is LaFleur.
  • But I still hate Sawyer’s LaFleur hair.
  • Poor crazy, grieving, babbling Daniel.
  • I can imagine the conversation. “You’re from the motor pool, man. How did you know how to do a C-section?”
  • Tense meeting of the generals: Horace and Richard.
  • “Your buddy out there with the eyeliner.” Hehe.
  • Have we figured out what exactly Richard Alpert and his people were going to do with Dead DHARMA Paul’s body yet?
  • Frank Lapidus is a freaking ace pilot!
  • “Good to see you, Kate.” “You too, James.” Not Freckles and Sawyer.
  • There is no good reason for Sun to have stayed in the present day while everyone else from the Oceanic 6 ended up back in 1977. Except, you know, for dramatic effect. I’d like it to be explained by pseudoscience though!
  • Does anyone else cheer when watching Sun whack Ben on the back of the head with the oar?
  • So Sun and Frank hearing the smoke monster was supposed to be our hint that Christian isn’t really Christian and Locke isn’t really Locke. Well, once we know that the smoke monster is essentially Jacob’s nemesis, the man in black, and he can take physical form from the psyches of the people on the island.
  • What a fateful meeting between Sayid “the Hostile” and young Ben Linus.  The lights should have flickered or lightning should have flashed.
  • Sayid should definitely wear long hair and leather jackets all the time.
  • Ben’s father is a real… well, there’s a word for him that I don’t like to use. It means illegitimate son.
  • Ilana and Sayid. She likes her steak bloody, and she wears killer boots.
  • Flaming DHARMA bus!
  • We will always have to wonder… would Ben have been this screwed up if Sayid hadn’t tried to kill him? I really need to go back and watch the earlier seasons, especially when Ben was being held prisoner in the Swan station.
  • I love Miles telling Jack he’s free to leave any time he wants… but he’ll shoot him in the leg.
  • Kate’s so good at heart. Giving blood to little Ben because he’s just a kid and she can’t let him die.
  • Kate losing Aaron in the grocery store is even more terrifying to watch after having watched my own son try to wander off in public.
  • I liked the Cassidy/Kate dynamic post-Oceanic Flight 815. I don’t like it so much now that they started having playdates.
  • I couldn’t watch the scene where Kate said goodbye to Aaron. I had to do other things while it was on the screen.
  • Healing young Ben steals his innocence. That sounds more wrong than it should.

Less than a week away now until the season premiere!
