I was sucked in by the lure of a “LOST moment” sometime during the broadcast of the series premier of Day Break. I’ve liked Taye Diggs ever since I saw him on Broadway as RENT’s original Benny, so that didn’t hurt either.
But when they promoted a LOST moment – they really meant only a moment. I’m sure the video cappers will be able to prove it definitively… but I think it was only 5 seconds long. And part of it was shown in the coming attractions at the end of the fall finale. We were robbed.
On the other hand, Day Break seems to be better than I thought it would be. Two former X-Files cast members, Mitch Pileggi and Adam Baldwin. (X-Files did an episode like this once, called “Monday.” It was an excellent episode.) And the show is far less repetitive than I feared it would be, considering the premise. I’m just afraid they’ve got a limited run here.
So I’ll keep watching. But I hope the “moments” we get every week add up to have a little more substance as time goes on.
