Barefoot Lennon is stalking through the underground passages in the Temple. “He’s alive.”
Miles looks a bit unhinged. Sawyer is bitter that Sayid lived and Juliet died.
At LAX.
Kate hijacked the cab, aimed the gun at Claire. Arzt lost his luggage in the crosswalk. Puppet Master cabbie ran out at the stop light. Kate took Claire’s purse and told her to get out without her luggage. Couldn’t tell if Claire was pregnant or not.
On the island.
Sayid’s wound is almost healed. Hurley has taken on a leadership position. Lennon wants Sayid to come with him alone. Jack says no. Dogen tells Sawyer he has to stay. Sawyer says no.
Kate wants to track Sawyer and bring him back. “I can be very convincing when I want to be.”
In Los Angeles.
Kate gets her cuffs off. “Bathroom’s over there. Make it quick.” Oh dear, yes. Claire was very pregnant. There’s all the stuff for Aaron. That’s why she wanted her luggage.
On the island.
Jin is going with Kate. Kate says, “I’ll take care of James. You take care of Sayid.”
Dogen is blowing ask on Sayid. Making sure he’s not Smokey? Okay, but why is he electrocuting him? What’s with the hot poker?
It was a test to be sure. “Don’t worry. You passed.”
“I just lied to him, didn’t I?”
“Yes.”
Umm… What?
In Los Angeles… Kate goes back to give Claire a ride to the adoptive family’s house.
On the island.
Kate just escaped from the little twerp she butted with her rifle three years ago… again.
What is Sensei doing in here now? (Yeah, I’m going to call him Sensei now.) He wants Jack to give Sayid this pill. Jack wants to know what was in the pill. Apparently it’s filled with Jack’s redemption. “It’s medicine and your friend needs it.”
What is this infection that Sayid has? The sickness that took Danielle’s crewmates?
“No white light? Angels singing? No dead relatives?”
“You’re not a zombie, right?”
“No. I’m not a zombie.”
Thank you for asking, Hurley. Didn’t Darlton joke about Season 6 being the zombie season way back in Season 2… and we thought they were joking?
Jack and Sayid are having a heart to heart. “I didn’t fix you. They did.”
Kate is going after Sawyer. Jin is going after Sun.
In Los Angeles.
Kate and Claire are having a heart to heart. Claire’s all nervous and jittery about meeting the adoptive parents. “Will you come in with me?”
So the woman’s husband left her, and she didn’t bother to call Claire to say she didn’t want the baby anymore. Claire starts going into labor… and we have a little flash of deja vu back to Kate delivering Claire’s baby.
On the island.
Kate is back in New Otherton. She found Sawyer prying up floorboards. A shoebox with some of Juliet’s belongings in it? He heard her, came out with gun blazing. He’s not so happy that she came after him.
In Los Angeles.
Ethan is the doctor at the hospital. “I just don’t want to stick you with needles if I don’t have to.” This is just so… creepy.
Back on the island.
Sawyer and Kate sitting on the end of the pier. Kate confesses that she came back to find Claire. She wants Sawyer’s help to get Claire back to Aaron so this won’t all have been for nothing.
“Sorry. I never should have followed you.”
“Which time?”
Sawyer doesn’t blame Kate for Juliet’s death. He blames himself. Kate may have stopped her from leaving on the sub in 1977, but Sawyer stpoped her from leaving on the sub in 1974. Because he didn’t want to be alone. “You understand that, right? But I think some of us are meant to be alone.”
Aww… he was going to ask Juliet to marry him. He went back to get the engagement ring. Pitched it into the water.
Kate cries. She had hoped they would be together, I guess.
Dogen has a baseball. Odd.
“You speak pretty good English for someone who needs a translator.”
“We both know that I don’t need a translator.”
It helps him stay separate from the people when he makes decisions they don’t like. He was brought here… like everyone else.
If there isn’t time to explain to Jack what’s in the pill, you’re certainly wasting a lot of time dodging his questions.
Jack does the gutsy thing and pops the pill. Much as I’d expected, it’s poison. That’s how to kill the infection. Eliminate the carrier.
In Los Angeles.
Kate signed in as Joan Hart. Hehe. Claire covered for her with the cops. And she’s offering Kate her credit card as thanks. (Someone stole my card! Arrest her!) She doesn’t know why she called him Aaron. Katee told Claire she should keep him.
On the island.
Kate’s getting water. Sawyer is staying put.
Lennon to Dogen: “He swallowed it?”
They believe Sayid has been “claimed.” There is a darkness growing in him. Once it reaches his heart, everything he once was will be gone.
“How do you know that?”
“Because it happened to your sister.”
Yes! Claire DID die! And she WAS possessed by Smokey! YES!
Doh! Jin got caught in a bear trap! And dirty Claire shot the Others who were going to kill Jin!
This was definitely not my favorite episode, but next week looks like it should be better.
