The clip show begins. We’re going back to the beginning. Oh cool, the actors are talking about their auditions. Naveen Andrews has the cutest British accent! None of them really knew what to expect when they auditioned, but they were blown away by the pilot episode. The part where Kate, Jack, and Charlie went to find the cockpit was the first thing they filmed.
They didn’t just find actors to fill in the roles, they cast people they wanted to work with, who had good chemistry both on and off screen.
“LOST is, at its heart and soul, a character study.” – Damon Lindelof. We do so love these characters.
LOL. Carlton Cuse wants to be Sawyer to call Hurley names all the time and say, “Son of a bitch.” Ha!
Daniel Dae Kim likes how the producers introduced a lot of stereotypes – like Sayid as the potential Muslim terrorist – and then turned them on their heads. I like that, too.
Island mysteries… and Locke. Every Terry O’Quinn didn’t know that Locke was in a wheelchair for the first few episodes.
Charlie & Claire! They’re talking about them as a pair. I love it. They were so sweet together. The peanut butter jar. Ha! Emilie de Ravin is allergic to peanut butter. Ironic. It’s such a shame that Charlie, Claire, and Aaron couldn’t live together as a family.
The raft from Season 1… It was actually sturdier than the camera boat. That’s too funny.
Henry Ian Cusick didn’t even know where Hawaii was before he moved there. Hehe.
121 hours in the series. Only 4 hours not shot in Hawaii. Impressive.
Sun and Jin really did have to overcome a lot to be together. They were apart when Jin was on the raft, and then when Jin ended up in 1974… Yes, we rooted for them to have a happy ending. They didn’t get it, though. They died. Ji Yeon is an orphan. Okay, so I’m glad they went together if they had to go, but it’s just not fair!
Henry Gale was supposed to be on the show for three episodes. Michael Emerson just did such an excellent job… He became one of the most charismatic, love-to-hate-him characters. “I am certain that I am the most beaten character in the history of television.” LOL. He had to show up early many days to get his cuts and bruises applied. He got beaten up by so many different characters so many different times.
Thank you, Damon and Carlton, for not dumbing down the show to pander to the lowest common denominator. Thank you for the Easter eggs. We love it.
Daniel Dae Kim’s favorite scene with Josh Holloway was the scene with the DHARMA beers in the DHARMA van where Sawyer was teaching Jin English. That was an awesome scene. I’d forgotten all about it.
Damon and Carlton deliberated over Charlie’s death for a very long time. Everybody cried, even the actors.
Kate was not Jack’s purpose in life, and Jack was not Kate’s. WELL SAID, Evangeline Lilly!
Josh Holloway wonders how much of a relationship Sawyer and Kate were supposed to have before everyone started talking about the chemistry they had in the pilot episode with the gun.
The scene where the freighter blew up was the hardest scene Yunjin Kim ever had to film. Her hands were shaking. I’m tearing up even now, with the moment isolated in a clip show without the rest of the emotional context, even knowing that Jin didn’t die. At least not then.
Shirtless Sawyer! I’ll miss that.
Evangeline was rooting for Sawyer and Juliet when she first saw them together in the 1974 scenes. “Kiss her!” LOL.
Michael Emerson talked about the extra intensity that Terry O’Quinn brought to the scene where Ben stopped Locke from committing suicide before killing him himself.
Season 6. Damon and Carlton discuss the flash sideways. The actors were very emotional when they got off Oceanic Flight 815 in Los Angeles. We still don’t know who David’s mother is. All of the differences between timelines. Can they find each other again? Would they have met if the island hadn’t intervened?
I don’t know how Richard could have this we’re all dead/in hell thing. We did see him off the island when he recruited Juliet. He talked to real, live people in the world.
Once the Man in Black became the smoke monster, he could only take the form of dead people on the island, or of his corporeal form.
Throughout all of Season 5, Terry O’Quinn just thought he was playing a more confident John Locke. He had no idea that he was playing the Man in Black wearing Locke’s body. That’s kind of amusing.
I like how they’re calling it the “awakening” when Desmond “remembers” the island in the alternate timeline. And Hurley.
Characters asking for help is a big theme in the alternate timeline. This is a huge difference from the island, since no one ever seemed to ask for help. They didn’t communicate.
This is almost it. Are you ready? I’m not ready for it to end. But it’s here…
